Whenever we talk about fashion, we always think that it is a woman’s territory since women are more fashion conscious and trendier. They follow the fashion trends and are eager to try new clothing and designs. However, although fashion is mostly attributed to women, men nowadays can also be fashionable. There are so many trends and designs available that men could wear too. One trend or fashion statement that can withstand the test of time is wearing polo shirts. Polo shirts are wearable anywhere and in almost every occasion. It is comfortable but fashionable. One brand of polo shirt that is becoming popular recently is the Lyle and scott Polo shirt.

William Lyle and Walter Scott are friends who started the said clothing line. They first started from making knitwear to jumpers then they decided to produce polo shirts. Lyle and scott polo shirts are initially released as golf clothes which are of course often worn by golf enthusiast whether amateur or professionals. Some famous golfers like Greg Norman and Gary Player even endorsed the shirts. However, as time goes by, more and more people, even non golfers are now wearing the Lyle & Scott polo shirt. They are trendy and have different designs to choose from.

The New York fashion week has always been a major event for famous fashion designers, models and fashion conscious individuals. This is an opportunity for the designers, both famous and upcoming, to showcase their collections. The event was usually hosted in Bryant Park which is an 8 acre park where huge tents were set up and are adorned by lavish runways. The fashion week is held twice a year, in the fall and in spring.

Being an avid fan of fashion and religiously following fashion designers, I have always dreamt of going to New York for the fashion week. Unfortunately I wasn’t given the chance for the past few years. However, this year was different. A friend of mine invited me to go to New York with her. She was given free invitations for the New York Fall Fashion Week for 2009. We searched online for New York Vacation Rentals and didn’t have a hard time looking for accommodations. When we got there, I was totally overwhelmed by how beautiful and awesome the event was. For this year, the fashion week was called the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week since Mercedez-Benz was the sponsor of the event. There were lots of fashion designers, celebrities, journalists/press, and spectators like us. It was really a dream come true for me. Hopefully, I could come back next year or if lucky enough, I hope I could also attend the spring fashion week.
